What Does STYLEZ Think?
As many of my Twitter/Facebook/Buzz friends saw recently, I am kinda passionate about this Airport Security topic! And lately, I have been getting VERY frustrated with the whiners and complainers! To the point where I had to post this on my statuses:
wish ppl quit their frickin whining & get over it! Want the TSA to Stop scanning & groping... DONT GET MAD WHEN PLANES GET BLOWN UP! #ScanMe
So yes, I am PRO-body scanning! Never thought there would be a national debate on public safety but, sure enough we have one right now! I was talking to a group of people about this subject and one of them commented that this is just a classic case of Americans crying about every little thing!
And you know what… they’re right! That's what it seems like! People don't want to die, but when you try to protect them, they whine about how you do it... they dont wanna pay for healthcare, but when you try to give them free healthcare, they whine about who gave it to them... they dont wanna starve, but you try to give them free food or foodstamps, they whine about how it looks in front of their "friends"... They just don't realize how GOOD we have it here and the fear and death people have to go through overseas on the DAILY!
Don’t get me wrong, I understand about the people with LEGITIMATE complaints, I am definitely not mad at them. But like one person stated, its definitely evidence of how the government, throughout history, has dug a VERY deep hole for its self. But so many people are crying out for less intrusive methods. However, what they fail to realize is that “less instrusive” is VERY SUBJECTIVE! What one person calls less intrusive may be very intrusive to others, and vice versa! I, myself, don't mind the full body scan, I really don't see the problem with it. I'd rather go through that, than the SUPER PAT-DOWN! But some people are screaming, bring out the dogs, use more technology, blah, blah, blah! Well, me, I don't want any mangy-mutt sniffing my crotch, that's still intrusive to me! So what happens when they say, oh, we’ll use dogs since they’re less intrusive; and enough people like me are like OH NO I'm not flying because TSA Dogs are trying to sniff my butt! So, I chalk it up to we'll NEVER be happy! There's TOO MANY people to "please" and too many REAL threats to figure out! I like the current approach, of better SAFE, than SORRY!
