WHAT DOES STYLEZ THINK?
I didn't expect this many people to really say no, but then again, I REALLY didn't expect to see so many ignorant and uneducated comments either! One thing these "NO" people fail to realize is that just about EVERY OTHER modern-era president of this country (including their beloved George W. Bush, who killed thousands of our soldiers!) has addressed this nation WITHOUT their consent, their parent's consent, their grandparents consent, their great-grandparent's consent, etc! No matter how much somebody hated, disliked or disagreed with the president at the time, that president still go to have his say to Americans, young or old! I remember sitting in a classroom as a child, watching Pres. Reagan address the youth! I remember George Bush doing the same thing! What I don't remember (because it didn't happen) was my parents getting a choice in the matter! And believe me, my parents DID NOT agree with either of those presidents! So people, GET OVER IT, and let Pres Obama have his turn!

WHAT DOES STYLEZ THINK?
Well, as most of you know, Posterous has become my platform of choice for Blogging, photo-sharing, information distribution, commenting, etc! It has proved to be pivotal to my Twit-Bookin way of life! At some point, I may even come up with a new term for how I share my life with you all (at this point Post-Twit-Bookin is a tad bit long!). Therefore, I think this additional use for Posterous makes it even more useful for individuals, families and corporate America! I suggest you try it today! And see how it may change your Online Life forever!

When Gmail went down yesterday afternoon, I called Ken Auletta, who has written about Google for The New Yorker and whose book about the company, “Googled: The End of The World As We Know It,” will be out this fall, to see how he was holding up. Here’s an edited transcript of our conversation.
Gmail isn’t working. How are you handling it?
I feel like I’m stranded back in the twentieth century. Gmail has been down at least a couple of times before, and YouTube has been down a couple of times in the past twelve months. This is a menace to Google in the future.
Why is it a “menace”?
Google is betting heavily on something called “cloud computing”—the belief that you won’t want to spend a lot of money on expensive software packages from companies like Microsoft, and instead let Google give you free e-mail and apps and all other kinds of services that they will store on their “cloud.” It will be free, it will be portable, and you’ll have access to it anytime you want on any device. That’s a wonderful idea, abstractly. It’s a twenty-first century idea, abstractly.
But if Gmail goes down, it inevitably undermines that trust that consumers need in order for cloud computing to work. If I don’t trust that I can access my e-mail, documents, or schedule in the Google cloud whenever I want, then I’m going to stay with packaged software. That is the danger of what happened today to a company like Google.
